Pork Barbacoa

You’ll be the MVP of game day with this make-ahead feast that will leave your friends cheering. Whether you’re serving up tacos, burritos, or salads, this slow-cooked pork barbacoa delivers a sweet and tangy kick that's sure to score big

Ingredients:

  • 1 large pork roast
  • 1 Tbsp. Real Salt Season Salt
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1 cup kombucha (or apple juice)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. Cholula hot sauce

Instructions:

  1. Rub the pork roast with chili powder and Real Salt Season Salt.
  2. Sear the roast in a hot skillet with olive oil, then transfer it to a crockpot.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic in additional olive oil until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the honey, molasses, kombucha (or apple juice), ketchup, and Cholula to the skillet and simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Pour the mixture over the pork roast in the crockpot.
  6. Cook on low for 10 hours, until the pork shreds easily with two forks.
  7. Shred the pork and return it to the crockpot to soak in the flavorful liquid.
  8. Serve on tacos, burritos, salads, nachos, and more.
