You’ll be the MVP of game day with this make-ahead feast that will leave your friends cheering. Whether you’re serving up tacos, burritos, or salads, this slow-cooked pork barbacoa delivers a sweet and tangy kick that's sure to score big
Ingredients:
- 1 large pork roast
- 1 Tbsp. Real Salt Season Salt
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1/2 onion, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp. honey
- 1 Tbsp. molasses
- 1 cup kombucha (or apple juice)
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 Tbsp. Cholula hot sauce
Instructions:
- Rub the pork roast with chili powder and Real Salt Season Salt.
- Sear the roast in a hot skillet with olive oil, then transfer it to a crockpot.
- In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic in additional olive oil until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the honey, molasses, kombucha (or apple juice), ketchup, and Cholula to the skillet and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Pour the mixture over the pork roast in the crockpot.
- Cook on low for 10 hours, until the pork shreds easily with two forks.
- Shred the pork and return it to the crockpot to soak in the flavorful liquid.
- Serve on tacos, burritos, salads, nachos, and more.
