Reintroducing Re-Lyte: New Name, New Look, Improved Formula

Article at a Glance:

  • Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix is now Re-Lyte Hydration.
  • We redesigned the Re-Lyte Hydration label so it looks sleeker and is easier to distinguish from the other products in our Re-Lyte line.
  • We switched from calcium lactate to calcium carbonate, which makes Re-Lyte easier to mix and calorie-free.
  • We’re updating the name and label, but the calcium is the only change to the formula, so it’s still the Re-Lyte you know and love.
  • Re-Lyte will temporarily go out of stock while we prepare to launch the improved version this spring.
  • We’re making similar improvements to the rest of the Re-Lyte line soon too.

At Redmond Life, we’re always listening, learning, and working together to improve what we do. Since launching Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix nearly three years ago, we’ve continued to think about how to bring you the best hydration mix possible.

Through our learning, we discovered a few simple but exciting ways to improve Re-Lyte while keeping all the features that make it great. We’re working on these changes now and wanted to give you a sneak peek at the improved Re-Lyte before it launches this spring.

What’s Changing?

  1. The Name

Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix is now Re-Lyte Hydration. When we created Re-Lyte, our goal was to provide a clean, effective source of everyday hydration. We think the new name captures that mission better and makes it easier to understand Re-Lyte’s most important purpose— to keep you perfectly hydrated!

  2. The Label

We redesigned the Re-Lyte Hydration label so it looks sleeker and it’s easier to distinguish from the other products in our Re-Lyte line. We plan to update the labels for Re-Lyte Immunity, Pre-Workout, and Boost soon too. Each product will have a unique color scheme that makes it much easier to tell them apart from each other at first glance.

  3. The Calcium

We’re only making one small change to the Re-Lyte formula, but it’s going to have a big impact! The improved formula contains calcium carbonate instead of calcium lactate. There are a few benefits to calcium carbonate that motivated us to make the switch, like better mixability and fewer calories (you can read more about those below).

If you have concerns related to the quality, bioavailability, or side effects of calcium carbonate, we want to share some information that could help put your mind at ease. We only use the highest-quality, pharmaceutical-grade, purified calcium carbonate. You should also know that hydrating with Re-Lyte isn’t the same as taking calcium carbonate by itself.

As Re-Lyte dissolves, the calcium carbonate interacts with the citric acid in our formula to create calcium citrate, which is the form of calcium that’s known to be most bioavailable and easiest on the stomach. You can learn more about why we chose to use calcium carbonate in Re-Lyte here.

  4. How It Mixes

Any Re-Lyte fan knows that the original Re-Lyte formula took a little extra time and effort to mix. Thanks to the calcium change, the improved formula mixes quickly and easily. We were super excited to learn that this simple change would make Re-Lyte a whole lot easier to mix without adding anti-caking agents or other additives. We hope you’re as excited as we are!

  5. The Calories

We love our fasting community, so we’re happy to announce that every single Re-Lyte flavor will be calorie-free and more fasting-friendly than ever! By switching to calcium carbonate, we reduced the calorie count in our flavored Re-Lyte varieties from five calories per serving to zero.

  6. The Serving Size

Calcium carbonate is 40% calcium while calcium lactate is only 13% calcium. That means you need less calcium carbonate to get the same serving of calcium. As a result, Re-Lyte’s serving size (and the net weight of the jars) will decrease slightly. But you’ll still get the same amount of each electrolyte in a serving, and you’ll get the same number of servings per jar.

What’s Staying the Same?

  1. Our Electrolyte Ratio

When we created Re-Lyte, we worked with health and fitness experts to develop a highly intentional electrolyte ratio that delivers exactly what your body needs. We kept the same ratio in our updated formula.

  2. Our Standards

We’re committed to only using quality, effective ingredients that support your healthy lifestyle. We held true to this commitment with the updated formula. We kept our formula as simple, clean, and real as it was previously.

  3. The Taste

We’re offering Re-Lyte in the same seven flavors (Lemon Lime, Mixed Berry, Unflavored, Mango, Strawberry Lemonade, Watermelon Lime, and Pina Colada), and they all still taste delicious!

  4. Our Commitment to Reduce Waste

We focus a lot of time and attention on how we can make our packaging more sustainable while keeping it effective. As we worked on updating Re-Lyte, we noticed one simple way to reduce our use of plastic— get rid of the plastic shrink sleeve around the jar. We’re excited about this change, and we hope you are too! We plan to keep looking for new ways to make our packaging more environmentally friendly.

  5. Everything Else!

Beyond the calcium, we didn’t change anything else in the Re-Lyte formula, which means it still stands out in the sea of sugary, artificial, and less effective options.

It contains an ideal ratio of electrolytes. It’s powered by our unrefined, ancient sea salt Real Salt, which we mine ourselves in central Utah. It contains more sodium than the average electrolyte mix, so it can help replenish what you lose through sweat. And it’s free from added sugar and artificial sweeteners. Rest assured, it’s still the same Re-Lyte you know and love!

What To Expect Next

While we finalize these updates and prepare to transition to the improved formula, more flavors of Re-Lyte will gradually go out of stock. The good news is, this is only a temporary hiccup in availability. We’re getting ready to release the improved Re-Lyte formula this spring starting with jars and followed by stick packs.

More Exciting Changes To Come

We’ll be updating the look and formula of the entire Re-Lyte line in the coming months to make each product as helpful, intentional, and aligned with its mission as possible. That means Re-Lyte Immunity, Re-Lyte Boost (soon to be called Re-Lyte Energy), and Re-Lyte Pre-Workout are getting exciting updates too.

Thanks for your patience this past year as we worked to keep up with the growing demand for our products, and now, as we make these exciting changes to the Re-Lyte line. We hope that once you have an opportunity to try the easier-to-mix, fasting-friendly Re-Lyte, you’ll see it was worth the wait!

Anna

Hi! Is there Stevia in the hydration mixes or what is used to flavor/sweeten? Thank you!
———
Redmond Life replied:
Hi Anna! Thanks for your question. Re-Lyte Hydration is sweetened with Rebaudioside A, a type of stevia leaf extract. This natural sweetener provides a mild hint of sweetness without adding any calories or causing blood sugar spikes. If you prefer an option without stevia, try Re-Lyte Hydration Unflavored. It’s great mixed in a smoothie!

Angelo

I’m on LC Fat adapted cyclist that carry and used extra electrolytes caps along with my Endurance fuel to avoid cramping. I’m trying to minimize my ride by simply carrying a low carb energy endurance drink with sufficient electrolytes.

Redmond Life replied:
Hi Angelo, thanks for your question. Our Re-Lyte Electrolyte Caps might be a good fit for you. There are several varieties, and they are all fasting-friendly. You can check them out here: https://redmond.life/collections/re-lyte-caps If you have further questions, feel free to reach out to our customer service team.

Rhona

Is it safe for kids age 9year old? Does it contain caffeine?
———
Redmond Life replied:
Hi Rhona! Thanks for your questions. Re-Lyte Hydration was formulated for adults. Here is an article on our website that gives more information about kids’ electrolyte needs: https://kb.redmond.life/can-kids-drink-re-lyte-hydration. But check back with us because this summer, we’ll be launching a Re-Lyte formulated just for kids! Also, our energy mix, Re-Lyte Boost, has caffeine, but Re-Lyte Hydration does not. Hope this helps!

Marla

Hey, I’m ready to order that reLyte energy. When will that be available?

Redmond Life replied:
That’s a great question, Marla! We’re excited about the new Re-Lyte Energy, too! While we don’t have any exact dates, we’re working very hard behind the scenes, and it should be available soon! Until then, the original formula, Re-Lyte Boost is still available on our website.
