Taco PIzza

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup gluten-free bread flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Redmond Real Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 cup water (plus more as needed)
  • 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 - 3 Tbsp. Redmond Real Salt Taco Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded organic Mexican cheese blend
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely sliced
  • Fresh cilantro, for topping
  • Avocado slices, for topping
  • Sour cream, for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F with a pizza stone on the middle rack. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, baking powder, water, and olive oil until a dough forms. Adjust water as necessary. Knead on a floured surface until smooth.
  2. Dust parchment paper with flour. Roll out the dough to a thin, round crust and transfer to the preheated pizza stone. Pre-bake the crust for 2 minutes on each side, being careful when flipping.
  3. While the crust pre-bakes, brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the taco seasoning. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  4. Remove the crust from the oven. Spread tomato sauce, then add seasoned beef, cheese, and red onion. Bake until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.
  5. Garnish with cilantro, avocado slices, and sour cream. Serve hot.

Chef's Tip: Enhance the flavors and nutritional value by adding a mix of fresh and roasted vegetables as toppings. This not only adds depth to the taste but also introduces a pleasing texture contrast.
